That was the Union Carbide plant in Bhopal, India that blew in 1989 or so. Coolant went up to $9 a gallon! I also remember working at Trak Auto after I got out of high school in the mid '80's. We would get both Prestone and Trak brand coolant off the same delivery trucks from Union Carbide. The Prestone sales rep that came to all the stores confirmed that both came from the same place, but tried to tell us that the Prestone had "more and better additives" than the non-Prestone store brand stuff.
