That's the right part number for a 1.9L; no different size options for '83-85. I sell it for $33.95. If there are any unusual installation tricks I am not aware of them, although perhaps another listmember knows of something I don't. Then again, perhaps you have either the incorrect strap, or a non-stock muffler. I know that the aftermarket mufflers I sell all use the stock strap, but I've seen one or two Vanagons with generic mufflers that were probably installed by discount muffler shops and were obviously not intended for Vanagons.
