Subject: Re: Vanagon

I've had a 85 Vanagon Camper basically since 1990 (it's been in my family at least)and it has been used periodically as a daily driver. However, I don't think it is appropriate as such. It's very large and gets poor mileage. For neighborhood streets and city parking it's just not a very good choice. As a vehicle for trips, hauling things, and camping, though, it's fantastic. Nothing comes close to it in terms of interior space, at least nothing short of an RV.
