Subject: Rear Heater Motor Problem - burny smell
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi Listees,

When I turn on my rear heater blower (under the rear-seat, obviously) - I get that dreaded electrical insulation or strong burning plastic smell.

However, the fan does work well, noise-free, and heat does come out the duct.

It seems obvious, to a newbie like me, that the problem is the motor.

However, in the Bentley, there is no information of any use regarding the rear heater assembly.

Questions:

Is this an obvious sign of the motor going bad - or is it possible something else, disguising itself to me?

To remove the cover to get at the motor, do I basically just remove every bolt, untill the motor is exposed?

Anything else I need to do?

Thanks very much!
