As a charter member of the CCC and Mg burner, this grand old list has a lot less noise than say the BMW MC list and considerably less flame.

My first address on the net was an arpanet address w/o a name. Been usenetting for some time now.

The best cure for mail/docs/magazines/tvshows/pornography/political and other drivel that you don't want to read is the delete key or a Kill file like the one I have that specifically deletes any John stuff or XXX stuff or other categories that I don't particularly care to read. Saves wear and tear on that del key.

So If you don't care for the list content, attitude, volume or whatever, just check out and rant/pontificate/prosletize in private. Eric's address is in my kill file just because I don't choose to read his stuff, nothing personal, I just choose it that way.

I subscribe in digest and read every day or two at my leisure.

One outgrows the net-police attitude after a while as you learn that you can't throw a feather very far and teaching a pig to sing not only annoys the pig but frustrates the teacher.

Gerry did a fine job, Coyote did a commendable job, David saved the list from expiration and the beat goes on. There are notes about the lifecycle of lists and newsgroups in the ether if you care to read them. This list is quite mild.

Al (found someone to undo the Vanagon Projekt disaster, more news later)
