After looking it all over, I discovered that the two screws holding the
catch were very loose - ready to fall off loose.  I tightened them up (not
easy considering the angle) hosed every moveable part with WD-40 and
everything seems to be working well.  So, we'll see...

Clean the door track mechanism with Simple Green and a power car wash
spray... I have found no need to disassemble anything.
