I just replaced the transaxle in my westy with a salvage unit that appears to be in good condition from a reputable source locally. After the installation, I was bolting everything up and noticed that the filler tube threads were on the passenger side, not the drivers side. The pan can't be reversed. Due to the positioning of the air flow meter and several other components, I can't put the fill tube on the right side. I'm going to get the pan from my old unit this week, but I've never seen a tube on the right side. They've always been on the left. Anybody got an explanation? Number is the same on both transmissions. |
