Also equal to Snap-On and MAC are PROTO tools. These brands also provide free replacement if it breaks. Snap-On makes a quick-release 3/8-drive ratchet, p/n F723A. There is a very noticeable difference in quality of sockets by Snap-On (more material) vs Craftsman. Causal home user will never need the extra quality, of course. It was heaven for a while here in Albuquerque as Snap-On opened its first retail store. Lasted about a year--guess that means it won't happen elsewhere. I think an alternate distribution channel to the trucks is Snap-On Industrial, and I've in the past been able to mail order tools from them. (Just say "VISA card" when they ask for PO number.)
