Hi, When you take those shims one by one the belt tightens , If you add shims it loseens , imagine the cross-section of the pulley if you add shims it gets wider resulting the belt to sit closer to the center of the pulley Eren Berberoglu 86 diesel westy soon to be TD w/intercooler
