anyone know if the idle should increase above 1000 RPM when engine is cold. It seems every time i start the vehicle when it's cold i have to keep my foot on the gas for a few minutes to keep the engine from stalling. It would make sense to me that the idle should increase when first starting, and then decrease to normal after warming up.

Do i have a bad sensor somewhere?
