While I am thinking of it. I had to change a crank/WP pulley on my 82 diesel. It was a roadside repair without a spare. Someone stopped and helped me. The only belt we could find on a Friday night was 1/2" to large. It was still hard to ride it up on the pulley. I notice no adjustments. The new belt is due in today. Is there an adjustable pulley that is not readily seen. The Bentley mentions "shims". I don't see how this works.

Back to the reason I mentioned this. I needed a small pry bar to make the belt ride up on the pulley.
