Subject: rear pulley seal question (syncro and 2WD)

Just to share my recent discovery that the rear pulley seal is different on syncro models compared with 2WD models. The Syncro has a bushing with a flange glued onto the pulley which connects with a thicker rear seal with slightly larger inside diameter. This acts as an additional dust protection for the actual seal. The pulleys seem to be the same which makes it possible to convert the seal.

I could only get it from the dealer (for the usual horrendus price). The part numbers are (seal and counterpart must be replaced together) 025 105 249 A 025 105 248 A

cheers,

Björn
