I always use a gear or brake drum puller to remove the cv joint but i take off the cage and the six ball bearings, and then i attach the puller easy money this way .take care to clean everything up and inspect for wear. I like to use synthetic grease on these joints it goes a long way . Hope this helps . from HANS 84 VANAGON.
