Ken, Put a pencil between your right thumb and index finger, pretend it's the left axle, and twist it. Note the direction of force being applied by your transaxle fingers. Now flip it end for end, and use the left thumb and forefinger to simulate the wheel. Note that the forces applied by the axle upon the wheel will cause wear in the same relative location. But if you then imagine the right hand as the wheel and the left as the trans, you will see that the wear patterns have reversed. OR, look at the left axle from the perspective of the trans. The trans imparts torque to that axle in a clockwise direction. Now picture the same axle from the wheel end. The wheel is resisting motion, again in a clockwise direction. So while axle flips do not change the wear patterns on the CV's, swapping axles from side to side will. I originally made that same error in believing you could just flip the axle. BTW, the CV's are all identical on a two wheeler. Larry
