Hey Stuart -- Try Kiwi Carriers (I think out of Seattle). I used American Auto Shipping to haul my non-running syncro westy from Rock Springs, Wy to Seattle. Turned out they had Kiwi actually do the carrying. Actually, they had an independent named Travis and his very pregnant wife of "TJs hot shot trucking" or something do the haul, but they worked for Kiwi -- and I have no idea how you'd hook up with an independent. Total was $900, but American got $150 of that for making a couple phone calls.Vehicle arrived in fine shape.

I was in kind of a rush to get my van (if you recall, the westy was killing time a fireworks stand in the middle of Wyoming), so if you can wait a bit, they might be able to do it cheaper. I got a few transport companies from the archives -- American beat all of them by at least $150, and that's including their cut of the Kiwi rate -- I have no idea how much Kiwi's take TJs $ was. If you P-mail me Monday, I might be able to dig up some numbers on my work computer.

Good luck.
