Hot Crackers! Let me tell you about a well-organized 'database', available from the four corners of the Empire, day or night, rain or shine, come Hell or high water. It's amazing what you can have in your pocket, and not even know it.

If one is really clever, this service already exists.

While the first premise of my argument may prohibit a one or two of us, I bet most folks could narrow the list of key words to search in our fetid, fertile (or fetal?) archives. I don't think I am exaggerating to say that EVERY conceivable malady ever to strike a Vanagon has been discussed here ad nauseum during the past 6 years.

So if you have an intermittent noise no one can figure out, you might run a search on "intermittent" and "clunk". Or if your headlights keep flashing as if possessed by a league of demons, you might search on "headlights" and "flash" and "intermittent". Want to know all there is to know about shocks? Just run a search... ...you get the picture.

Enjoy. And for a limited time, it's free! So search Early, and Search often!!!

Dear List,

Alan's though echoes one I have had over and over again in recent months. Wouldn't it be great if someone brought together in usable form all the combined wisdom of the list. Not only a trouble-shooting guide for common problems, but also articles that pull together and summarize all the research on topics such as shocks, tires, coolants, headlamps etc.

Woody
