A power converter is to provide 110 when not plugged into the house. The two internel outlets have nothing to do with a power converter. Also, a power converter connected to a heater would drain your battery in a few minutes -- just too much power draw.

For lights, most larger truck stops sell strings of 12 volt Christmas lights.
