The matrix in the catalytic converter can come loose and shake to the point of causing a restriction. The baffels in the mufflers can rust loose and cause this as well. Try wrapping on them with a soft faced hammer or the heal of your hand to see if you hear anything rattling inside. Low fuel pressure can cause very similar symptoms, either from a weak pump or clogged filter. Low spark energy from old ignition components can cause similar problems. A clogged air filter is also a possable. Check your maintenance history to determine if anything is long overdue for replacement. Regardless, an inspection of these basic is in order if a quick rapping of the exhaust suggests no problem there. Let us know what it is when you find it.
