http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/poptop/ Here are some pics of the final trip of the unused rooftop. Since nobody wanted it, Chris Turner and I strapped on a trailer made from a 1970 pickup truck onto Bev's trailer hitch, heaved the roof on and took it to the scrap yard. Chris had stopped over 2 nights ago with a big chisel and a die grinder to cut the thing in 2 pieces so it would fit on the trailer. Thanks, Chris! Note the big crane at the yard that was wildly swinging around. It was a old guy having a good ol' time smashing cars and whatnot. We got his attention and he gave us the thumbs up to dump the stuff, but he was still moving that thing all over the place. Oh well...enjoy. My next project is the 2.1 engine from Karl Mullendore sitting on my garage floor. Yesterday, I started taking the FI, intake and some coolant pipes off. I'll be busy on my brother-in-law's sandblaster since it's a rusty Nova Scotia engine. :-) -Karl Karl and Kristina Bloss, Trexlertown, PA '87 Westfalia Weekender "Beverley" - 190K miles http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/ PA/NJ Vanagon owner's mailing list: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/pavanagon/ |
