I'm in the process of taking the 2.1 engine apart and I'm down to the water pump. Haynes has a single instruction for taking the 3 pulley bolts out that basically says "do it." Is there a trick to binding up the water pump so I can get those rusty bolts off? I hosed 'em in penetrant, so maybe they'll be better today. I already broke the plastic handle on the screwdriver I jammed in there (no worries...it's a Craftsman...it'll get traded in). -Karl Karl and Kristina Bloss, Trexlertown, PA '87 Westfalia Weekender "Beverley" - 190K miles http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/ PA/NJ Vanagon owner's mailing list: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/pavanagon/ |
