        Just trying to get some work done tonight, but since I left my mailbox
open, the recent discussion has bee a pleasant distraction.
        When I was contemplating the purchase of a Vanagon with an engine
that sounded like it needed a rebuild, Bob Donalds gave me some good
advise (don't buy it), for free of course.  Thanks Bob.  I have the good
fortune of living just three towns away from Boston Engine, so when it
comes time for my 2.1 Waterboxer to be rebuilt, I can just drop it into
the (Rabbit) pickup, and take it over.
        Good coffee is an important part of Westfalia camping, or any
camping for that matter.  I defer to my colleagues in the
Seattle/Vancouver area.  Myself, I use the Melita to insulate steel mug
method.  Now, who has a bean grinder that runs on 12V power?
        We keep no devices on hand for midnight facilities.  We are the
ones you hear outside in the middle of the sub-freezing night.
        I think the guy in Marin who was looking for a good Vanagon
mechanic actually own a whole fleet of Westfalias (for rent).  If he
doesn't have a competent mechanic, is there much hope for the rest of us?
        Obviously, I can only remember the threads with minimal Vanagon
content (like my own post).  Got to get home to see if my circuit breakers
have arrived by UPS (to wire the barn, to heat the shop, to work on the
Camper, to let it give us another season of cruising around in our VW home
away from home.
