Same issue here sometimes and it is most annoying. I find it happens after a
rain (leading me to think there is a short somewhere) or sometimes when it is
cold outside (South Florida does not get too cold). Well, there is no short
that can be found and my mechanic says it definitely is not the cold.


What I believe is that my van sometimes get a bit temperamental and I you
just talk nice to her (A 91; Vanagon named Bread) she will start up. That is
the best answer I can give, but you are not alone with this problem.


PS. Bread will be hitting 100K miles this week. Should I hold a party?
