Subject: head nut sealer
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Hi All

Sorry 'bout beating an old subject to death but I'm beginning to tug at my hair here (not quite pulling it out yet).

I've about given up on getting some "yellow head nut sealer" and I've not been able to find an alternative (ie: permatex super grey). Everything I've looked at/been pointed toward has been some type of thread treatment.

Can someone please tell me what the purpose of the yellow stuff is? I can't imagine that it will prevent coolant leakage... is it supposed to prevent electolytic phenomena or what.

I'm thinking about reassembling without it... or coming up with my own alternative solution. My reassembly has been held-up for three weeks because of this (Grrrr)! Thanks.
