Keys do odd things. Using a heavy key ring once driving down the road the engine just quit. Turned back on right away. My theory then was that the heaviness had caused the key to unturn in the switch.

But most interesting is the phantom horn on startup. The horn would turn on with the engine and stay honking until I banged the steering wheel. Finally figured out a vagrant key was slipping into the crack of the steering wheel joint and closing the circuit. Only in a vanagon...it was groaning because I had woken it up?

Cheers, Tom Neal
