Prolly for the same reason we in the US have a Euro Sport, EuroVan,
Barretta, LeBaron, Monte Carlo, and Parisianne...the grass always sounds
greener on the other side of the pond.

In the immortal words of the late JFK: "I am a Jelly Donut!" = "Ich bin ein
Berliner!" it just sounds good.
