Subject: pics of A8 wheels on a Vanagon.....
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

for all of you who are interested, Karl Bloss came over today with his DigiCam, and before we went on our "Adventure to the scrapmetal yard" (we were lucky the crane lift operator didnt crush his van!! Karl, where's the pics?? :<) i yanked the Audi A8 wheels off the front of my '86 5000 turbo, and threw them on my '84 GL for a few snapshots. the A8 wheels are 16x7 et 37. the wheels fit on the rear of the vanagon no problem, but if you want to put them on the front of a 2wd van, you'll have to machine the centers like the 5000 turbo wheel. if you have a Syncro, you dont have to machine anything at all. anyway, you can see what it looks like in the pics. the tires i have on there are the ones i'm running on my 5000 turbo, and theyre 205 55 16's, but as you can see there's room for a bigger tire, if you want.

here's the URL: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/turner/ and scroll down.

chris
