Its held on by a plastic assembly behind the dash. This assembly also houses the electrical connections and light bulb. It slips over the barrel of the lighter, held on by two tabs on the barrel that "click into" corresponding recesses on the aforementioned plastic bit.

It is tricky to get at, but the idea is to (with a small screw driver or such) release the tabs from the recesses. Remove the actual lighter part and have a look inside the barrel and see if you can make out all this.

It wil be easier of you remove the radio to get more access from behind, and it will allow you to note what wire goes where.
