Hi everyone,

I've been off list for a while now, but thought I should warn you all of a very BAD experience my uncle had with a local VW repair shop in Duncan, BC.

The shop name is AutoVolks, and the owner is Bill Court, aka Bill Douglas.

My uncle's 89 Westy had been at this shop since May of this year, after he paid in advance for an engine rebuild and trans rebuild. During this time he has been fed countless stories, and even had the van "broken into" while it was parked behind the shop, since the moron left the engine lid off with no engine/trans in it.

To make a long story short, it took a flat deck, and a call to the local police to get his van back, with a partially rebuilt engine, missing many wires and hoses, and a tranmssion still in pieces with a trashed R&P.

Since my uncle spoke to the trans shop who had done the rebuild (back in June!) on his trans (on behalf of AutoVolks), it it clear that his good trans went to someone else.

Needless to say, legal action is pending. And not surprisingly, this guy is well known to local police.

Thanks very much to the local list members who warned me against using this guy back in April - a thumbs up to AutoSpiel in Victoria, who did a rebuild on my trans in 3 days and came in under budget.
