Jeff-

While I ain't talking it up so much right now, I have a list of about 40 folks who are quite interested in ringing in the millenium (which actually occurs in about 380 days) on Padre Island, or at Big Bend National park. I'll start jawing about it more in June/July 2000.

Cheers,

In a message dated 99-12-07 08:01:03 EST, you write:

<< I highly encourage folks to do the winter camping thing.. >>

I'll second that. I've been on two winter campouts the past two years, both were great. If you pick a campground with electric hookups, a small 1500W heater will keep the van very comfortable ( my wife has made it very clear that I'm on my own for winter camping, so I've gotta bring a heater). The heater I used last year kept the camper very warm, and night time temp dropped to 18 degrees. Anybody thought of organizing a winter 2000 campout? Assuming of course that the world doesn't end! Jeff S.
