Subject: '87 ECU problem resolved
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

Hi Volks,

I was the one with the '87 Westy that ran funny (some hesitation, power loss). Sent the ECU to Darrell for his magic, got it back, things seemed okay, but my FLAM insisted something was still wrong because his scope determined eight cylinders.

Rather, his scope said that my ECU was sending signals for an eight cylinder engine. Something like that.

Well I recently drove from San Diego to Seattle at 70+, and it ran flawlessly. Why, on the passes it almost seemed like it had eight cylinders!

Thanks to all who responded. By and large the listmembers were right, the mechanic was, well, unright.

Neil Wigley
