I too am a lover of winter camping, and in northern Ontario we get our fair share of Father Winter. It's my favorite time of year to camp. The solitude is amazing - no-one around save for the few souls with similar love for winter camping. There's nothing like using my 87GL as a home base for all my horse-shoeing excursions. Heat? what heat? I only need my down bag(Western Mountaineering) which cost almost as much as my winter tires :) It keeps me nice and toasty even at -35C in my underwear...great feeling knowing its freezing cold outside but your're snug as a bug...Heck, if its a clear night, I'll throw the Thermarest on the snow and crash under the stars. I pack food and water in a water tight bag and stuff it down the bottom of the sleeping bag to keep it unfrozen.

Happy camping..
