Yes, its a 2,0-16V, available in The Passat and Jetta in the US (Maybe also Audi 80?), Even the Corrado here in Europe (but not the Jetta :-( ) and available as 1,8-16V in Golf, Jetta, and Scirocco.

It's the same engine as all other VW 4-bangers (mostly, at least) but you will most probably need to modify the decklid as the engine may protrude, being the 16V version.

I'm sure someone knows this better than me?
