It is a well established Maine tradition to return from the dump with more goods than you deposited. I have utilized this tradition to score books, chairs, jeans, sneakers, bicycles, board games, sweaters, soccer cleats, etc., etc., etc. Recycling at its finest. No Vanagon parts unfortunately...............

In a recent townwide referendum, voters approved retaining the town transfer station (AKA: "the dump") over curbside garbage pickup by a margain of three to one!
