Chances are that most of the coolant lost was just from the radiator. I've successfully topped off the radiator (after changing my coolant switch) by using a 20 0z. plastic soft drink bottle. I drilled a hole in the cap and inserted the bottom half of an old ball point pen in the hole. This gave a long, very fine spout that I could direct coolant into the radiator with. You must go slow, due to no venting. It worked, however, with no bleeding necessary. Good Luck. Steve Sandlin 84 Westy Wolfsburg, 79 transporter, 00 New Beetle
