Hi All I came up with a great tool while wiggling around under my engine reattaching a head this weekend... it's called a pillow! I had a chunk of roughly 5"x5" foam from the outside rail of an old water bed that I cut about a foot and a half from. Stuck variously under my head, behind my neck, under my armpit etc. it made all sorts of uncomfortable positions more comfortable. Sealing surfaces cleaned more easily, head bolt threads practically cleaned themselves, and I could see the push rod seats down the tubes without even looking ;-). If you don't have a lift to work under and you've ever strained your neck or felt the burn of discomfort and frustration rising too soon as you set to work, I strongly recommend that you get yourself a good, thick, firm chunk of foam to help enhance your gumption!
