I had similar results. After the tranny swap, shifting into 2nd was difficult when the weather turned cooler with the dine GL-4 stuff. I put the Redline into the tranny about October and the cold shifting is not only possible, but smooth. I ordered a case directly from Redline, except they recommended MT-90 instead of MTL for the Vanagon. -Karl > I have put in Redline MTL gear oil in and now I can shift into second gear > with NO problems when the tranny is cold.
