While I have not seen any significant problems with the Brazilian ones, I tend to prefer the Italian made LPR Hydraulics wheel cylinders over the Brazilian ones as an inexpensive alternative to German. LPR is an original-equipment supplier to many European auto manufacturers (although not VW to my knowledge). Generally when you order the $9.95 wheel cylinders from me you get LPR's, although rarely I do substitute the Brazilian ones when LPR's are not available. (Right now I do have LPR's.) Regarding the German ones, typically they are in the $30 to $40 each range, at which price I would definately feel that they're not worth the difference in price. At the moment I have a closeout on German ones for $19.95, which makes them a more viable option (although still twice the price of the LPR's). Personally, the track record on the LPR's has been good enough that I wouldn't feel it neccessary to spend extra for the German ones on my own van, but I do have some customers who prefer all German parts as a matter of course and have been snapping up the German ones at the closeout price. - Ron Salmon The Bus Depot, Inc. http://www.busdepot.com (215) 234-VWVW |
