OK. Spent most of last night removing everything forward of the front floormats. Have the fresh air fan out and on the table. vacuumed the previous resident's debris out and got the fan to spin. Question is: is it worth attempting a rehab or do I just buy a new unit? who's been here and what have you done? also, btw: all 4 sliders on the "climate adjust" are supposed to activate wire cables; three open or close vents and one, the second from the top, activates what appears to be a valve in the heat exchanger line. on my '87 that cable had broken, and the lever always had a mysteriously easy action as a result. I always assumed the lever activated an electrical switch somewhere, and though it never felt like it was doing anything, I was always scared to look into for fear i'd unleash an electrical demon under the dash. with everything out and in the open, the under dash electrical frontier aint all that scary a place. looking froward to a defroster this year, Curt. |
