When I hit the ignition in my 84 vanagon, it starts right up. After 3 seconds or so I hear a constant hum that never goes away and never varies under any conditions until the motor stops running. I assume this is my fuel pump. Sure sounds like it is in that area. Is this what happens when fuel pumps start to cavitate? If I ignore it, will it give me some warning before it just quits? Thanks for any help! Steve E 84 vanagon Lansing Michigan |
