If we have chili or such, we usually prepare it at home, freeze it in small
zip-lock bags, then load these in the top of the fridge. They add thermal
capacity to the stuff in the fridge, and reduce the chance of spoilage.
We DO cook in our van, but mostly 're-heat', or boil coffee, as described
before. By the way, y'all with your civilized press thingies are missing
our on a real camping adventure if you aren't boiling your coffee the
frontier way. My $.02.
Favorite stove-top delight: biscuits (to be dipped in vegetarian chili, or
stew). I use a heavy Dutch oven on the stove top, and make sour-milk whole
wheat drop biscuits that are so good you have to take your boots off to eat
them...your toes curl so hard, they are so good, you can bust the bottoms
outta your boots...

I looked at that for quite awhile wondering if it werea grill top for the
gas stove.
Since the unit I bought had never beem used (still plastic on most parts),
I
couldn't use burn spots or lack of for any clues. I cannot figure out hy
the
'Canadian' models would be different unless it violated some archaic Red
Leaf Law.
Well, this will keep me from having to clean up as I go along. Hard to dry
the dishes if you're still making the chili.
BTW - Anybody got a recipe for Vanagon Chili? (Or how do you plan your
meals
for on the road?)
