I broke the carafe for my french press and discovered that those taller plastic soda cups ala 7-11 or am/pm (fill in the international equivalent for convience store) fits the plunger and top pretty well. Mine had a plastic tube to drink from and has double walls. I tossed the top and tube and replaced it with the plunger and its top. Makes a great cup of joe and it fits in my Kmart folding cupholder (had to stick some kinda vanagon content in there less I be blasted over to alt.coffee). Not very good for soda anymore though. Also, I saw a grinder for boats at Boat US for $19.00 on clearance. I think it was battery operated but it may have been manual I'm not sure.
