If you are talking about the original VW speakers, you now are the proud owner of vintage VW door stops. They are a unit, and repairs are out of the question.

Replacements are nearly free, though...seems like Van-Again had these for $10 - $15 buck a few weeks ago. You may consider upgrading (check Crutchfields, etc.); while the originals were not horrible, there are much better speakers available for just a few dollars more.

(all this from a man who has a $20 am-fm cassette, with stock speakers),

Since I added sound to my van the rear speakers have become increasingly 'buzzy'. I removed one this weekend and found that the rubber between the cone and the rim had disintegrated.

The speaker seems impossible to remove. The speaker and housing seem to have been made as a single component i.e. glued together.

Suggestions?
