Hi David,

I don't remember the exact dimensions. I didn't purchase it, but only looked at it in the store. This statement is not accurate, but for example it was something along the lines of needing a minimum of 20 (or 30 or 40 or whatever it was) square inches of fresh outside air venting. For example, a ten inch wide side window opened 2 (or 3 or 4 or whatever) inches or a 20 inch wide window opened 1 (or 1.5 or 2 or whatever) inches. I don't remember it saying anything like the window must be fully opened, instead I remember something like a specific MINIMUM square inch requirement recommendation. Again, I don't know exactly what it was. You won't find it on the box, but it was in the instruction manual.
