Subject: '81 Westy Cold Hesitation
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

'81 Westy 2L aircooled, manual trans. Runs like a dog when cold, it idles fine, but acts like it's running out of gas, or the ignition is shutting down when accelerating, big time hesitation, won't take any gas at all and sometimes dies. She runs great after a llllooonnngg warm-up. So far I have replaced the fuel pump and filter, blocked off the EGR, Checked the AFM/temp sensor with a multimeter, auxiliary air regulator, cylinder head temp sensor, and freshened up the distributor, everything was hunky dory. I don't think it's the O2 sensor since the idle is fine at all times, and I believe the O2 sensor only comes into play below 3000rpm, but could be wrong. Thanks in advance for the replies. Oh by the way, I live in Southern California so when I say cold I mean an outside temp of 50-60 degrees farenheit. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
