If you are interested, call Northwest connecting rod in Seattle, WA. They have done many a diesel vanagon to gas 2.0 engine conversion. I ran into a guy who has a westy for sale here in Seattle that they had done a Passat engine transplant in his. It looks like it was designed to be there from the factory! He's a poor grad student who said he was 'technically' selling his westy but hoped noone would buy it . When the engine goes out in my syncro I am going to have this done. Good luck to you!
