data for my conversion:

'82 westy 1800 8v Digifant, '92 model year. engine has around 100k miles (80k done while in van in van) van has 175k miles transmission stock diesel Yokohama 370, 195/75 14 Average speed on hwy around 60mph (100 km/h) 92 octane gas

mileage (city/hwy) averages around 27.3 mpg imperial, 22.4 US, 10.4 liters/100. Lower by one or two mpg in winter. Highest recorded was 29 point something during summer on a camping trip, fully loaded.
