Actually, protecting Gerry would protect us too... at least in some cases. For instance, one of the latest viruses goes into the address book and then sends the virus to all those addresses. Also, virus protection can only protect us AFTER the virus has been discovered and a protection routine written by the virus protection companies and distributed to us virus program owners. Shutting Gerry down for a couple of days would give us time to get the latest virus fixes that won't be available until after the viruses are discovered... in some cases after the turn of the millenium.
