Nate- I don't get it...You spend all the time to clean and polish the top, and you won't spring a lousy $12.00 - $16.00 for the bolts to complete the job? Sheese! You prolly paid that much for polish and cleaners. What gives? G. -----Original Message----- From: Nathan Richmond [SMTP:Hailcall12@AOL.COM] Sent: Monday, December 20, 1999 2:40 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: pop-top carriage bolts I am in the process of restoring an abused '83 westy. I recently thouroughly cleaned and polished the pop-top. The top now looks great with the exception of the very rusted bolt heads. I looked everywhere for replacements, but was only able to find them at the VW dealer for an alarming $2 - $4 each. Does anyone know of another source for these metric bolts? Thanks, Nate Richmond Cary, NC 27513 |
