A good friend of mine, that works in an offshore mechanical factory, told me about a colleague of his. This person had just bought a '95 swb Caravelle, ex- army car. It was in a bit shabby state, so he needed to fix it up a bit, and he wanted to put on a new layer of under coating, to protect it from rust. This person, probably not with the brightest bulb in the attic, had to get under the van, but he didn't want to crawl on the floor. He didn't have access to the factory's shop lift either, as it was closed after a fire. What did he do? Well, the most obvious thing, of course! He used the big 50 ton crane in the roof, connected it to the trailer hitch and lifted the rear end of the van at least 2 meters up into the air! My friend figured it had a 45 degree angle! From there, the owner proceeded to fix and coat the van's underside! Maybe I should ask for loan of this crane the next time I have to bleed the coolant?
