I did some field work between Midland and Pecos for my future employer. Traveling along that highway there wasn't a whole lot to look at so I'd remember seeing anything that remotely resembled Clown Around. Did catch a quick glimpse at a VW infested salvage yard near Odessa. Didn't see any squared off Vanagon shapes though. Not much help but at least you can narrow your search -- half a successful search is knowing where not to look. I had a blast driving a Lincoln Town Car through a bunch of ranch and oil field roads along the Pecos River but that's a whole nuther story not nearly as good as your road trip. I have done web searches, and Yellow Page searches, and come up only with clown supply places in a city, chiefly in cities we were no where near. It would be less than a mile off I-20, somewhere in the dry/arid/desolate part of Texas, and (probably) west of Ds/FtWorth. Anybody? Anybody? Beuhler? >> |
